"Tea" (the character imprinted on the above block of tea) is the Amoy pronounciation of the Mandarin "Cha" if you didn't already know. In fact, there are a lot of loanwords from Chinese that we use in English.Among the notable standouts:

-silk
-typhoon
These terms probably came into English do to contact with missionaries and traders and due to the colonization of parts of China of various foreign powers.
